Check out the New Books

4th of July is less than a week away. Yes, the calendar has been double-checked as it certainly doesn’t seem like we’ve had a month of summer already! Small knitting projects are always a good idea for summer knitting as they are portable, don’t cover your entire lap with wool and are quickly finished. Another good idea for summer is to check out the new books and get ideas for future projects. We’ve been getting shipments of new books, and here is just a sampling of new titles on our shelves.

55 Christmas Balls to Knit: Colorful Festive Ornaments by Arne and Carlos

Our first shipment of this title sold out within the first week, but we have more in stock. Written by a Norwegian and a Swede, this book takes traditional patterns and puts them on Christmas tree ornaments. Rumor has it they may be addictive; similar to potato chips in that you can’t make (eat) just one!

Sock Knitting Master Class by Ann Budd

Ann Budd does it again…another great pattern book with all the basics plus innovative designs from fellow designers. Some booksellers say this title hasn’t been released yet, but we have a pile of them at the shop just waiting to be purchased!

knit, Swirl! By Sandra McIver

Check out this book’s unique designs that are easy to knit but look more difficult based on their clever construction. Beautiful photographs will inspire you to make at least one of her lovely creations.

Norah Gaughan Collection by Berroco Volume #9 and St-Denis Spring 2011 Issue 3

Both of these collections of patterns have been very popular, with earlier versions selling quickly. Stop in to see the latest in the series!
