Calling all Mitten Fairies! It is time to start your knitting needles and crochet hooks on a Mitten Fairy project to benefit the St. Paul area school children. Each fall, we gather homemade mittens, hats and scarves to give to children in need at the local schools. The need is greater than ever this year. To encourage you to make a few more than last year, we will be having a Mitten Fairy punch card. For every handmade hat, scarf or mittens donated before 12/31/10, we’ll punch your card for a 2% discount. The discount grows as you knit more for others. Donate 3 items – 6%, 7 items – 14%, up to a maximum discount of 20%. In January, you can stop by the shop with your punch card and use your discount on a one-time purchase of in-stock items.
Who says there is no reward for being nice?! We will also be having a couple of social events at the shop for Knitting for Others. You can come and chat while you are working on your Mitten Fairy projects. We’ll keep you posted on the dates and times for those sessions when they get on our calendar! Thanks in advance for any donations you can make…some kids won’t have a pair of mittens or a hat if we don’t knit them.
